Caeliai is a founder-led AI commerce research and advisory studio created by Kalan Peace. It measures how ChatGPT and Gemini recommend ecommerce products, where the purchase links send buyers, and what brands can improve.
What Caeliai is.
People now ask AI assistants what to buy. When they do, the assistant names brands, shows product cards, and picks where the buy link points: the brand’s own store, a retailer, or nowhere useful. Caeliai studies that decision. The research is published openly as the Genesis series; the advisory side turns the same measurements into scores and fixes for individual stores.
Who runs it.
Caeliai is run by Kalan Peace, its founder. Kalan built the measurement tooling, runs the studies, writes the papers, and works with brands directly. There is no team behind the curtain: when you email Caeliai, you are talking to the person who ran your prompts. You can find him on LinkedIn.
Why it exists.
Caeliai started as research into how AI models see products: first vision models on fashion (Genesis 01), then what language models repeatedly choose (Genesis 02). The pattern that turned it into a studio came from Genesis 03: across 380 brand observations in real ChatGPT and Gemini shopping conversations, 63% of recommendations did not become a clean path to the brand’s own store. Brands were being recommended and still losing the sale. Nobody was measuring that at the product level, so Caeliai does.
